Prairie Flowers with the Nature Club in July
The Nature Club took a walk through a virgin prairie (never been plowed) in private ownership in North Iowa, on a beautiful July evening. Here are several of the native prairie flowers that we saw on our walk, but certainly not all of the species growing here. I make no attempt to identify them because I will surely make mistakes. If one of my good prairie flower friends would like to take a stab at naming these I would post a list here later (I numbered the flower images). We are very grateful to the owners of this property for giving us the opportunity to experience this unique native prairie.
