In November, I had the opportunity to go to Ontario, Canada, with fellow photographers, Harsha and Larry, to take photos at the Canadian Raptor Conservancy, with Raymond Barlow's raptor workshop. For two days we took pictures of many birds perching and flying under the guidance of the falconers who positioned or flew the birds for about ten photographers. Raymond was a great host and helped us find the best positions to get some wonderful images and gave advice on camera and lens settings. It was a great experience to get practice photographing flying raptors in a controlled outdoor environment with multiple opportunities to take pictures of each bird. The first day was very cloudy and the second day was sunny so we got to see some of the birds in different lighting conditions. We saw several birds that I have never seen up close and several that are not native to our part of the country and we would never see around here. These are just a few sample below, but the there are many more.
