I've always thought that taking photos of owls was sort of a religious experience. Then I saw this Great Horned Owl on the cross at the top of a church steeple and that kind of confirmed it. Several in our family are Owl fanatics. Our daughter, son-in law and grand children have been hearing and seeing Great Horned Owls near their home for a couple of years, but never got a good look at them nor located the nest. Last night we found the nest, two owlets that had fledged and were flapping around from branch to branch in the trees, and at least one adult that was bringing fresh food back to the young ones to feed. It was pretty cool when the adult flew up to the church steeple to survey the area in the evening twilight. [Click the images to see larger] [See more Owls here...] |
